Also make sure files are going to the right place because there are a lot of subfolders like gamedata\configs or gamedata\meshes, gamedata\textures etc.
With the first few mods this will be easy because tje gamedate folder is empty so there will be no files that can be overwritten but the more addons you copy to the gamedata folder and the more files and folders added to it you will eventually be prompted to overwrite files and this is where addons can mess up the game and you have to reinstall. Download and unzip addons to a seperate folder so you can view the contents and then copy them over to the gamedata folder. Call Of Chernobyl folder and all addons go in here so if this folder is not there just create one which is what I did.
